Hi All,

I'm switching to Naked VDSL, however due to the way the house is built there is very little space between floors (3 floors). I got my hands on a Fritz!Box and want to plug one of the ATA ports in to the phone socket due to monitored alarm - all it does is call my cellphone when it goes off and I'm not ready to go through the hassle of upgrading it yet. I already had a master splitter put in by Spark when I first got VDSL and there is a cable which goes out the back of the demarc and to the room with the router.

Essentially I want to disconnect the phone side of things so there is no power on the phone lines internally - otherwise the ATA will fry itself I am assuming. I've got some scotchlok's, however I just need some guidance on how to go about this.

I'll open the demarc tomorrow and get a photo of it.

Thanks

Remove splitter
Put incoming on to green pair of xDSL cable
Join blue pairs (that went to xDSL jack point + feed from phone side of splitter)
Install new xDSL jack point on other end of green pair.

You can now plug VoIP into old xDSL jack point which will now be back feed to demarc and back into phone wiring.
