Hi all,

My friend has sold me an Iphone 6. He said that he has used it with Spark. When I received it, I put Spark SIM: it worked but when I put the Vodafone SIM, it has no service. It's mean that Spark locked their iphone 6 ? How can I get it unlocked ? Can I use any online service to do ?

Thank you,

Most likely stolen?

Don't buy anything from anyone without proof of ownership these days

Go to this page, enter the IMEI and see if it's blocked:

Yes, I used your link and checked, it is black: stolen or lost.
I have never known about this to check before buy it.
As you said, Spark and 2degrees will lock it soon. Is it right ? If yes, it's a bad news for me !

And "The phone is not locked and it should work in all New Zealand mobile", did you mean : before the phone is locked by Voda, it is an unlocked phone that can work with any NZ mobile.

Thank you freitasm !

I think the lack of replies from the OP speaks volumes. The only place the phone should go is to the police and then it is their problem to find the rightful owner. Thankfully there is a process they follow so it has been known to end well.

But a stolen phone is exactly that. So trying to get your money back from the person who sold it to you is the wrong approach IMHO. The only way to go is to the police. Report the seller. And consider the money you wasted as an investment in your education as you have learnt a valuable lesson from this.
