So I had my number changed from Skinny to Spark just recently, 3 days ago approx and I can send/recieve texts and calls on the new skinny sim, *333 recognizes me, allows me to see balance, topup, change addons etc but whenever I try signup online or using the android app I get this...

"Sorry - that's not a Spark mobile number. Want to try another number instead?"

I have asked them to look into it and been told they'll get back to me in 24hrs, I see another member here had a similar issue and wondered if anyone has also come across this and had it resolved?

Rings bells with me. In the end I think I ended up going into a Spark store and the person over the counter sorted it out.

I suspect the app is coded to expect an 020 skinny number and dies because its getting a ported number originally from VF..

prob best to find a Real person, either on the phone or in store to get it working...

I've struck this problem quite a bit upon porting, always been fixed within a few days upon reporting to Spark.

I can fix this one... In fact it's my fault it got broken in the first place :). It's a funny long story involving an interesting sequence of steps involving porting which I found late last year just after brownout. So will be getting fixed next week after brownout finishes so future folks don't get busted. There was a bit of discussion about me releasing the change post brownout. But the number of customers impacted was deemed low enough to run it as a manual process when the issue occurs.

If you email me your number "pl at spark.co.nz" I can fix it tomorrow. Otherwise the mobile support team on 0800 800 163 have a process they follow to fix it too.
