Ive been having issues with twitch.tv lately being insanely laggy.

Some tracerts ive done show routing going through japan and getting really high ping at the global gateways - this only seems to be the case for twitch as other sites have normal ping at the gateways.

The high pings at GGI are an artifact and likely unrelated to the issue. It looks to me like either your local network is congested (are you saturating your upstream, is someone else, are you on Wifi or wired?) or there might be some handover congestion as the pings to even the first external hop (our BNG) are higher than expected.

Unfortunately you've given nearly no information that would help with a diagnosis so I can't be of much more help at the moment sorry.

Plan, access type, DSL stats (if DSL), is the issue only at peak times or any time of day, is it all sites or only some sites, does it affect youtube or Netflix (as we have local caches), If it's at peak times is it every night or only weeknights?, have you made any changes to your network recently? Wired/Wifi? How many other people using the connection? anyone running P2P software?

Cheers - N

ps, edit... Where abouts are you? Do you know what cabinet you are connected to?

Currently on the 200gb plan with a static IP, Ethernet connection, this only happens at peak times and only affects twitch from what ive experienced. Youtube and Netflix unaffected. 1 other using the connection right now, and no P2P connections.

Router stats:

ADSL Link                    Downstream               Upstream
Connection Speed           7058kbps                 869kbps
Line Attenuation                38.5db                    20.7db
Noise Margin                     12.1db                    12.4db

Im in shirley, connected to the exchange outside Shirley Primary school area (SR Shirley)

Cheers
