Quite a few of the BBS's I use when I get e-mail notifications, the notification also includes the text of the new post. I find that really useful. Can the GZ BBZ S system do that?

Also the GZ BBS will mail you for every update to a thread - would much prefer it just emailed once no matter how many updates had occurred since you last logged on and then reset the thread notification once you have read the thread.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

similarly, I find the rss feeds do not contain any of the post, and seem to default to the first message.

wondering if that's my reader or if something can be done on the site

Not so great for the "emailing the content of the post" option if the "only email once" option was also enabled Cool, but I agree both would be handy features to be able to choose between.

From previous threads we know that the "only receive one notification email per thread" option is being worked on.

It's a balance of functionality and performance. Moving large amounts of text from a SQL database to RSS feeds that are hit continuously consumes lots of CPU cycles. So I decided to provide the subject only - expecting people would write decent subjects.

Of course this may change in the future.

fair 'nuff, thanks for the explain.  What about the rss always defaulting to the first post?

GZ is the only forum I use that emails after each reply. But I quite like it because it gives you an idea of how busy the thread is - I find that useful.
