sbiddle:Evolbob:I mean I like to support the sponsors, that why I still bought their pricey pizza, but Red Dog don't seem to be willing to come to the party, considering their short-sited view on the beer Kegs.
If you don't understand how the liquor & hospitality industry works it may seem short sighted, but infact it's not.
The majority of bars and many larger restaurants have supply agreements with either DB or Lion.?
Both DB and Lion like to push exclusive?supply agreements which means the venue?will only stock products from the one supplier which is why many bars only carry products from either DB or Lion and not a mix. Some bars don't like exclusive deals but may offer pourage rights (ie tap beer) from one supplier and give them the majority of facings in the fridge but carry a limited range of bottled beers?from other companies.
At the end of the day it all comes down to $$.?Breweries offer significant?amounts of money for loyalty and meeting supply targets and may contribute to things such as fitouts. It's not hard to see why venue do align themselves?with an exclusive supplier when so much money is at stake.
One Reg Dog is a Lion?venue so aren't?going to want to be helping DB out in any way by letting them promote a product. Don't hold anything against ORD for this, they are simply protecting their business. If somebody from Lion came in and saw them giving away DB product it would certainly not go down well!
?
I'm really surprised that someone had to state the obvious. And beside - you don't look a gift horse in the mouth. That said - good on you for supporting the sponser.
