Quick Question - I am flying to Australia this after, what settings do i need to enable so that i can use data on my phone while i am in AUSTRALIA. Do i need to contact Vodafone to notify them that i will be using my 4gs for calls and data?  I am on contract plan.

Hi there,

if you want to use roaming you wont need to change any settings just ensure you have roaming enabled on your account. If its set up your phone should work on arrival in AUS when you pick up a network.

The charges are shown on this page check them out before going.

Let me know if you want to know anything else.

Please note the data bundle that is on your postpay connection is only valid when you are in NZ, Once you leave you then pay roaming data rates and in AU 50 cents per meg

Especially check the data prices. I don't think you actually want to use any data overseas unless your directly related to Dotcom and have access to his hidden millions.

The iphone has a option under settings to turn mobile data off / on, I would advise to use this when mobile data is not required when roaming as Apps can use mobile data in the back ground

For the love of jesus (Also your bank account and our sanity for when you come back here and whine about a $$$$ bill), don't use data on your NZ vodafone sim outside of NZ. (Data roaming)

Buy a local prepay SIM with data and use that.
