I'm over this Huawei rubbish that Vodafone give VDSL customers.

I've already had to spend money on a 3rd party wifi solution because the wifi in the Huawei is so flaky it isnt funny. And now the cursed thing loses its DNS settings almost once a day causing issues with various services used at home.

So I'm looking around to see what other VDSL modem/routers are about....  trying to keep cost low as possible. So far the Draytek 130 seems to be the only thing under $200 that I'd trust.

Any Draytek 130 users around - would appreciate your views on the unit :)

TIA

PS: Yes, been back to V/fone many times regarding their router, inc getting a new one etc but same issues on both, and their forums have quite a number of users with similar issues.

The draytek or a zyxel p870 are good bridging options.

Not used the Draytek 130, but currently have a Netcomm NF4V that ran on Bigpipe VDSL with no issues, and which is currently being used as a router only on Vodafone HFC. It is under $200 right now and can be used for UFB too. Downside is that although it does everything a fairly advanced setup could need, it's not easy to set up in a lot of respects.

Before you buy the Draytek 130 it would be best to clarify it has the same broken DNS behavior that's in the 2760.  Of course if you only every want to use the DNS server delivered to the router by the ISP's DHCP  server, then you won't care. (Although I suspect it also causes latency).
