I had to disable VoLTE on my phone, it was failing to send SMS.
It seems a common issue with Xiaomi phones trying to send SMS over IP/IMS when VoLTE is on.

Has anyone had VoLTE working on a HUAWEI B525 RBI modem?

I have VoLTE enabled and Network mode LTE Preferred, but the modem is dropping back from 4G to 3G during phone call (and dropping internet (data connection) at same time)

@timbonz VoLTE is disabled for Huawei devices at the moment pending a software update!

Make sure Automatic updates is enabled on the modem

Bugger! Was hoping that wasn't the case. Hopefully they'll sort that side of things out soon. Same story for Spark, and I selectively turn VoLTE on and off. Super useful over the weekend at Friday Jams live in Auckland where I was finding it difficult to call someone via normal methods, but had no issues using VoLTE.

S8: No software update for this. Anybody manage to get VoLTE using another countries CSC? I believe its Vodafone who should enable it in their software for the device.

In saying this, my phone had Vodafone SA CSC previously, and VoLTE was active on that firmware in that country. Came here and I loaded Vodafone NZ CSC for local apps/services etc, but no VoLTE support. Just wondering if anyone has a different country CSC with VoLTE enabled and working here on Galaxy S8 or older. Or, anyone using unbranded CSC and got VoLTE to work on Vodafone network?

Edit: Tauranga Region. Vodafone coverage map indicates 4G Voice is active here.

I'm going to load VNZ CSC on my Note 8 this afternoon, will see if I can manage to get VoLTE. I do see the firmware is only a week or so old, so fingers crossed.

What CSC do you have currently and is the 'HD Calling' option even visible in the settings menu of the Phone app?

Sometimes it goes by 'Advanced Calling' on some versions.

With the VodafoneNZ CSC on my S8, this option is not there, can't understand why it's so difficult to enable it.

Any update on the p30 and p30 pro using volte on vodafone?

I had a call with technical support. They said Vodafone will have support for sending SMS over IMS after launching 5G.
