dafman:

Installed today for a friend's non-Sky household. Expected TV guide to broadly reflect Freeview channel listing but instead it's predominantly Sky channels not subscribed to.

So basically you're paying $149 for non-stop Sky advertising.

Was thinking of purchasing myself, but now...

Pass.

Hi @dafman

You can hide unsubscribed (Sky) channels in the settings.

Cheers,

Grant

As mentioned many times on here. Bring up menu go to settings/content settings/unsubscribed channels and set it to hide. Simple as that. Don't worry it took a lot of us a while to figure/find out too. VTV user guide is pretty vague

(there's 112 pages on this thread, so forgive me for not being fully up to speed as I've only just set up the VTV today).

Many thanks to you and Grant above. We've just jumped into settings and bypassed the Sky channels. Hard to find if not pointed out, so Geekzone again proves it's value. Cheers

ZollyMonsta: For those who had to login again to NEON, what date did you notice this? (I have a theory) ;-)

It was either Monday 18/05 or Tuesday 19/05. And last time was about a month before that.

Hi all, i’ve caved in and bought a VTV direct from vodafone on their website. I ordered it late morning Thursday and it says that it is not ready to be picked up by a courier yet, anyone else having delays from vodafone’s side?

I ordered one the same time as you, and apart from the original order confirmation email, I haven't received any further communications?

Did you get tracking details?

@dafman you can disable the channels you are not subscribed to in the menu in 3 seconds and they will no longer be displayed

When checking just now to see whether we have the latest update, I noticed the settings page ‘VTV Intelligent Mode Consent’.

On the first ‘Notice’ page, I see “Agreed” and green tick mark.

On the second ‘Consent’ page, I have it set to “Not Agreed”.

When I go back to the Notice page, it still says “Agreed”.

Anyone know what is going on here?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

This has probably been answered here before (on one of the previous 112 pages of this thread), but is it possible to add an existing Sky subscription or add SkyGo app/credentials to the the VTV Gen2 box?

TIA

I ordered another one on Thursday morning and got tracking details on Thursday evening which said it had been picked up.  NZPost updated yesterday saying it would be delivered on 27 May.  Other courier deliveries have given estimated delivery dates and the items have arrived a couple of days before that date.

Ordered on Wednesday, tracking ticket issued Thursday no updates except picked up. The bottle necks seem to be around Auckland why don’t these companies have alternative distribution centres

I ordered one Tuesday afternoon, got courier tracking details Thursday.

Courierpost tracking says picked up, it's an overnight service, they just don't say which night at the moment :)

impracticaljokers:

Hi, I am having issues with the Neon App on the Gen2 box. The app forgets my sign in details every few weeks and I have to log in again. I am only having this issue with the Neon app. All others remember my login details.

Thanks @impracticaljokers, we will report this through to Sky to fix.

<edit> I now see @zollymonsta has also picked this up, and has a theory.  Grant, I'll get in touch Monday to hear your theory!

This should not be happening.  Do you operate multiple boxes on your account?

It's working for me, does anyone else on geekzone have this issue?

Yes, just go to vtv.nz and sign in with the details you provided when you activated the box.  There you can add and remove Sky subscriptions under the TV Services tab.

For reference: Sky subscriptions require a credit card (or Visa debit etc), are paid one month in advance, and automatically recur monthly.   The subscription can be cancelled at any time (although you will continue to be able to view the Sky channels through to the end of the prepaid month).  If you add an additional Sky package to your existing subscription, you're charged immediately for the added package on on pro-rata basis for the days remaining in your payment cycle, and then the additional monthly charge is added to your total Sky charge that recurs monthly.
