YES IT WILL , when we know the costs we can offer another plan but under this pilot we do not know the costs we will be charged for the connections.... we believe it will be along the lines of the UFB pricing but we don't know that and are still waiting for this and we cant revise plans until we do ....can make it plainer than that.

Anyway what I'm reading is that your admitting your paying for a phone only service but don't get good internet usage out of your phone only service....hmmmm

There really is no pleasing some people. Your paying $45 for a phone line pretty much like what nearly all others do unless they're on NDSL for hwich is only slightly cheaper than Phone line + Broadband.

You make it sound like you have no other options out there. Is there another provider available??? If so and WXC makes you so unhappy then get a new provider. If not you can choose not to use that service from WXC.

Ultimately what your doing is complaining that for a phone only service you can't get what nobody else gets free broadband/fibre internet. I think you need to either change providers or start paying for use of a internet service like the rest of us.

For goodness sake .... WAKE UP!!

Does you Phone service work OK? If yes, then all is good in the world ... CAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR!!!!!!

If you want an additional hi speed internet service, then PAY FOR IT!!!!

The reason you have slow internet is because your not paying for it! You need to upgrade to the high speed option! If no one else is willing to service your property via copper or alternative fibre services take it up with those providers!

I was trying for the more diplomatic approach but same thing really, your not paying for a internet service yet your using one so instead of complaining maybe you should be thanking them for allowing you to do so not too many people have free internet all be it a bit slow it's better than dial up and those guys pay too.

To be fair, the fusion product guide has the following,

"Currently there are two connection speeds depending
on the package you select: Fusion VLSI - 100Kbps down
/100Kbps up, and Fusion VHSI - 30Mbps down /6Mbps
up."

And then goes on to say

"the VLSI speeds should perform similarly to a
256Kbps/128Kbps ADSL connection"

So, it's not just a phone service connection they have brought. It's not a fast internet connection they have brought, either though.

Well, there is not, (unless you count mobile data, or, possably, woosh). I wouldn't.

This should have been made clear before buying the house.

Given the option, I would gladly pay for that service knowing that the price decrease is coming, but, it is not available in our area. Yes, it looks (and I guess is) expensive now, but, it does not appear that xnet can do anything about that at the moment. Not much point getting upset at xnet when there is not a lot they can do about it.

I think he said earlier somewhere that he was paying $12/mth for "internet access" ... but all the same, cant complain about not getting something you arent paying for.

No.

While I understand that hands are tied due to Telecom/Chorus setting the prices, you must admit that $99/month + $1.29/GB is rather pricey. Especially considering ADSL offerings from other providers today.

If you read posts above you will see that I pay $45 for phone and about $12 for VLSI fibre Internet. I'm happy to pay more, but I can't download more.

??? Xnet is ONLY one provider in my area. I CAN'T change it. Other users and me said it many times in this topic. It's amazing that nobody can provide Internet service in centre of Auckland except one provider!

I was one of you in past

I paid to Slingshot about $95 for phone and 80-90 GB of data with free off-peak hours. Now I need to pay 99+90*1.28 = $214.2 Do you see a difference?

Could do a price comparison here he's stated he pays about $12 for internet a month which would be at WXC prices about 10 gig how about going to other websites and seeing if you can get 10 gig for $12.

If you've been with Telstra a while you can get dial up for $3 in some areas and probably a similar data amount.

As to the above can I just get a little further clarification there's absolutely no chance to call say Telecom or Vodafone and get a phone line connected then pay for a BB service on top or are you saying there's no other Fibre options as no options would be the first instance and no Fibre options means you have options but choose not to utilise them (a bit like choosing not to pay for a high speed fibre connection).

Alternative service is not allowed

take it up with those providers!

Too expensive. I don't want something special, I just want to be like all others!

Finally we're getting a more complete picture. Ok so now I would see why your in a pickle but sadly one you've put yourself in and opted into by buying in a restrictive area or choosing to not pay more (I do understand budgetary constraints lol).

Is WOOSH a option???

I use a similar amount of data and have recently been sseeing all these promotions for cheap BB everywhere or now even AYCE NDSL (I have NDSL through WXC) just don't really want to take on these services until WXC puts out their changes. I think you probably are just going to be like everyone else and wait it out or pay up and find ways of cutting your usage down (less gaming or content streaming / downloading) if it's things like movies or tv shows (like us NZ'ers are known for) then sharing is caring there's bound to be someone you know who is getting similar if not the same content.

It's a hard ask at times we get used to a good thing then when circumstances change we realise how good it was and find it hard to adapt. Any word on when the trial comes to an end???

one more time....

This is a closed pilot at present which went up for Tender others were all able to apply to it ..... No one else could deliver services or meet the requirements for this new service when it was up for tender, there were technical specifics that had to meet which you don't seem to care about for you it's just give me cheap, unfortunately that was not one of the criteria this technology had to be proven and it required some carrier grade network capabilities from the providers, Session Border controllers, Carrier grade soft switches etc a proven VoIP capability and let me make this very clear to you, no one else was capable of this at the time, you may not care but Telecom and others do care as they want to get it right.

Now please get this and I cant put it any plainer than this, we do not have the cost of what we will be charged for delivering the fibre for when it comes out of Pilot .. we don't know what we can charge because we don't what we will be charged !!!.... When we do then we can and will be offering better plans, if the costs that we will be charged is not cost affective we will pull out of the service all-together but were not expecting that.

So unfortunately you are stuck with what you have ....
