We were getting a little white message, top right of the screen, saying that VTV was not connected to the Internet. Everything kept working and the message didn't stay long (each time) so we ignored it.

Question about the stuttering issue - does it only apply to 'live' TV, or also to 'saved' content. Like @sansom we have only seen it a few times, but also we seldom watch 'live'l. Generally we watch recorded or on-demand content. (Both of which this box does well, apart from the user interface.)

Stu1: This is really a terrible product , restarting and rebooting every couple of days really is a joke. Do they really test releases or another example of fragile rolling out products half assed with minimum testing as MVP. The customer experience is really terrible with this product .

Hi @Stu1, I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues.  This shouldn't be happening as the current firmware is stable and restarts/reboots shouldn't be required - especially not every couple of days.  The vast majority of users do not need to do this and report a very good customer experience.

If you direct message me to discuss how we might trouble shoot what's causing this for you.  Maybe there is an issue with your particular VTV box?  Are you running over a mesh or other extended/boosted Wi-Fi network?

Please DM me and I'll sort this out.

Hi Hamish, thank you i have reset and readded it to the orbi and has been ok for the last couple of days, fingers crossed it’s working now. Thanks for offering help cheers

Is there any work/progress to bring Spark Sport and Disney+ to Vodafone TV as yet?

Spark Sport is dead man walking so will never happen. I'd say it will be gone by mid next year.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Did others have a lot of issues last night? We had a lot of freezes, catchup jumping back and forward and jittery video. I have been requested by my wife to deposit the unit either in the waste management bin or in the garage or better still to take it outside and the sledge hammer to pound the thing into oblivion. Luckily I cannot lift or use a sledge hammer so it's safe until my wife gets home.

I tried to request Sky online and I get a message saying I have to upgrade by contacting Vodafone so I guess I have to ring Sky.

This morning's TVNZ1 Breakfast program was unwatchable. Freezing every 30-60s and when the picture came back it was like a 360p - 128kb/sec resolution with stuttering!!

have had this VTV box for 10 days, took a while to get set up, turned out HDMI cable from old vodafone setup was not compatible, switched to an older cable and all go. this freezing/ stuttering problem is nightly and lasts 5-10 seconds, happened a couple of times tonight second time seemed stuck so I clicked standby and back and seems ok so far. Being on fibre now not expecting atmospherics to be an issue, but its mighty windy in Welly tonight. Only seems to happen while viewing live, ie not with catch up. Other thing for anyone who gets one is apart from the HDMI, VF has me switch the ethernet to port 1 on VF modem which they said seems to work better -- Chorus has plugged into 2 and 3. I dont see any reason for port 1 to be a requirement but its all working pretty well now.. expect the intermittent freezing.

While our vendor is developing a permanent fix for the microfreezing issue, the Vodafone NZ Media Operations team have been working on changes to mitigate the issue in the meantime.  Their update yesterday:

We have been tirelessly working on the "micro freezing" (VxOA CC error) issue. Last night (Thurs night) we made another config change on the platform. Looking at logs today, since the change, for the first time it looks like we have made a noticeable improvement. It's not 100% fixed, but looks much better. So please watch some TV over the weekend, and report back your feedback. (If you do see a micro freeze, note the channel and time, check if it is in catchup.)

Awesome thanks, can you tell did the config change happen around 1115-1130pm, I had to restart 3-4 times between then and midnight, this was different in that it just stopped streaming and displayed a black screen, so if thats caused as part of the actual upgrade process that ok, but I wanted to check its not an upgoing issue caused by the upgrade

Thanks

Hi @bitcruncher, from the media team:

So we started after 11:30pm,  but maybe 2-5min of black screen after then could have been when we were updating the configuration
