KiwiNZ: I am paying for Broadband I expect Broadband.
Teeps:Skillie: I am getting great value out of the free data weekend - about 180GB extra for free!
I will think twice before condemning this trial as a failure...
As I say, the only thing this is doing is giving opportunities for people who aren't prepared to pay for what they use to take take take, and those of us who'd just like to be able to use what we pay for can't! Seems like you're a prime example as your greed has meant others are having poor service this weekend

geeksonwheels: TelstraClear's advertisements claim that "customers will be able to Skype as much as they want!" during this free broadband weekend promotion. So... has anyone actually managed to have a successful skype video call with someone overseas this weekend?

timmmay: I just realised I had limited my connection on my end - doh! When I switched that off it went from 2Mb to now sit between 6Mbps and 10Mbps, over my VPN. That's 70+% of what I usually get, with every man and his dog using the international bandwidth. I'm impressed!

Yes - I am on Skype at the moment...
No, you didn't. Dial-up max at 56 Kbps. You are getting 325 Kbps according to yourself.
Folks, please stop confusing Kbps and KBps. You are not helping.
