As a new subscriber in Johnsonville, I am devastated to find not only is my "broadband" slow but cable SKY is also affected. I want to add my name to the list of complaints about lack of service. Fortunately we are still in the 7 day cooling off period and may go back to Telecom after this fiasco.

Hopefully unless TelstraClear decide to have another stupid weekend like this you shouldn't have these problems on a day to day basis

geeksonwheels: TelstraClear's advertisements claim that "customers will be able to Skype as much as they want!" during this free broadband weekend promotion. So... has anyone actually managed to have a successful skype video call with someone overseas this weekend?

Yes - I am on Skype at the moment...

I think you have already proved that you are not one of the people affected so wasn't much point in replying really!

I have empathy for your situation in Hataitai - I hope it gets resolved soon.  In the meanwhile, I will continue to participate in this discussion, because I can Smile

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

That is fine, but if you could qualify your posts with where you are it would be helpful as with the way you post it seems you are trying to undermine the fact that others have a problem

No worries. As stated earlier, I acknowledge that some areas are experiencing slow speeds - however, it is not the situation in Kapiti.

The minute I see that they are doing this again I will be on the phone to them insisting I am not included and insisting my speeds aren't affected

You're generous... the minute I see them doing this again, I will be looking for another provider.

I know it's First World Problems but seriously, they've ruined my entire weekend. A friend of mine is competing in an international Starcraft 2 tournament this weekend, and thanks to my sub-20KB/sec download speeds, I can't even watch him.

Is anyone else having issues with Telstra Sky too? Or is my Sky issue unrelated to the download overload?

Kapiti here (Waikanae Beach) with InHome Cable

Choosing Wellington as server:

Letting it choose for me:

And that's with apparently 15/2

YouTube is basically impossible and my newsgroups which usually max out my connection at 2MBps are running about 800KBps
