Very good call with the Vodafone Retention team, we have a process in hand that is very acceptable and means I can stay with Vodafone which is my preference.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Same here, but the small outages have been happening for a long time now, and I know you have congestion. But this network is now a year old and shouldn't have all these issues.
Maybe VF have decided not to spend any more on it and just get what they can for it.
richms:What was the solution? Move to UFB or just give you lots of credits to make up for it being bad?

That is the fall back but I have agreed in the interim to keep with FibreX and try and resolve the issues with Vodafone. They agree that I can move to UFB if need be. <snip>
I don't understand why you don't shift to (VF) UFB immediately - UFB is a proven and reliable technology, but "FibreX" is not.
I've had UFB in the past and now "FibreX" (currently my only option). UFB was vastly superior.
Sideface
I came close and I may still move to UFB, the option to stay on FibreX if issues are fixed has the least strife and possible stress. Changing risks down time which we cannot have it also involves dealing directly or indirectly with Chorus something we don't relish. There is also the task of getting consents as we have three way shared access. Lastly FibreX is cheaper per month than UFB but that is not too important.
I am also prepared to work with Vodafone to see if we can resolve the issues I have with Fibre X for a period of time.

Why not order UFB with another provider, get it installed, then move that connection to Vodafone if you prefer to stay with them?

MikeB4: I would not do that, it just does not seem right to me. The provider would incur costs.

I hope Vodafone is rewarding you with a shedload of always connected data for your patience.

are you assuming that?

I may have misunderstood Quickymart suggestion "Why not order UFB with another provider, get it installed, then move that connection to Vodafone if you prefer to stay with them?" I took that as meaning to get UFB connected with say Spark then move it when it is connected
to Vodafone meaning move it straight away. Surely there is a minimum time required to recover costs that would have been incurred by Spark and I feel it would be unfair to do that.

you know there are no contract ISP's out there right? get the connection sorted with one of them and move after the first month. there is no early termination fee then.
and yes that is what quickymart is implying, engage a second ISP to get UFB connected then when it is move to Vodafone.

There would be no cost to me but there will be a cost to the ISP and that is something I wont do.

I can forsee the day when VF starts to move all FibreX customers to UFB.....their cable network seems so under maintained.
