Shindig: Vodafone taking a quality of quantity?
80Gb is ample or are you downloading every HD movie release?

NZCoderGuy: Just received my email now. Must be doing it in groups of users. Anyway, will stick around till end of month - to see what else changes

zhuyan: I feel Snap's VDSL is only something transitional between the ASDL2 and the fiber network; TBH, it is not worth the hassle as I would rather wait for full fiber network to become available in my area (which I hope would be within this year, according to Enable webpage).
Also with the faster speed (both upload and download) while the data cap remains the same and in the meantime you pay $25 more each month, plus all the equipment costs, I don't see good value in that, personally.
I will remain with ADSL2, then switch to fiber network later.
The thing for the moment is to decide which ISP to sign up for; I'm happy with current speed and I simply need more data each month.

It's just an indication of what's out there really. Just like 80GB may suit some people, VDSL may not suit others.
Lucky you that you're getting fibre this year but for a lot of other people, that's just not the case. I don't know if we'll ever get it and I'm 50m from the cabinet. If we want the speed increase then VDSL it is.
networkn: What's NDR?

It would be interesting though to know how VDSL performs as compared to ADSL2. Have you signed up already?
Actually I'm not sure whether the fibre would be laid out as scheduled (I certainly hope that is so), with the way Christchurch it is at the moment (just another 4.2 shake this morning!!!) :(
brad_p: I got the email too, on Ultimate Naked so I guess it's not just for clothed as previously mentioned?
Ruphus:
There's a thread over on the Snap board that talks about the VDSL. Personally, I'd rather put that $25 into more cap. The international speeds will be the same for ADSL and VDSL.

i just spoke to vodafone about making sure they had my right email address and i mentioned your post and she said that it will be a mistake and no-one on naked should have received it.
