Has Vodafone re-farmed all the capacity on HFC yet with TV Services and DOCSIS 2.0 gone yet? If so should we of expected any notable changes?

ZollyMonsta:
Eva888: It was inevitable. Cancelled Sky by phone and asked if FTA would continue to work until September and was assured, yes.. Was handed over to Retentions who gave me a brilliant new deal for just broadband and phone. Happily went off for a short break only to return to no TV at all. Both Sky and FTA off.

Found a courier bag from VF with a notice...Enjoy your new VFTV box and a list of instructions for my new replacement box...but, no new box was in the bag. Also in the instructions was to return my faulty box in the bag provided.

Notice on my TV from Vodafone was your box needs a reset and to go to their website for instructions. Did that. Took one look and decided to call instead in case I made the confusing situation worse.

Do I attempt to reset the old box or send it back in the courier bag, or enjoy the non existent new box they say they sent.

I spoke to two people in VF and am now in limbo. No one knew what to do. They have booked a callback within two days. Waiting.

I am working on this project.

Please PM me with your details. I will also pass this info on to the project manager

Great outcome thanks to @ZollyMonsta helping. I now have my FTA back plus all the apps, a brilliant new broadband deal from Vodafone and no more Sky. Very happy.

To be honest a lot of negative things said about Vodafone but they have always been so helpful and sincerely try to fix things so I’m sticking with them.

Yeah - I've known a few graduates who went to work for Vodafone. Great feedback and my experience supports the idea that a company that provides a good environment will get a good product. In this case the technical side of Vodafone works well, but customer service was appalling, and seems be 'lacking' now. Still not good, but the hold music and CSRs are friendly.
As for good products, I'm so going to miss the VTV hardware. Still not sure of an alternative solution yet and am very unlikely to have such nice hardware.

Umm...may not agree with you on the hold music...made me mutter a bit.

I’m happy with the Dish Android TV box on my other TV. Not as good as VTV because it lacks the replay function, but acceptable as it has a lot of Play Store apps available for download.

Well I got my email from Sky telling me that they are now providing the billing for TV services and the 1st March to 19th March is gratis. Great

Started following the "must do" to enable me to pay them and failed at the first hurdle. I tried to create a Sky account with an email and password and first and last name to continually get "We are sorry, something went wrong when attempting to sign up"

What is it with these companies that they make it so hard to do anything? I will try again later and then -shudder- ring the 0800 number. Not a good start I am afraid.

I can't create an account on the phone app either and wait time for 0800 is 50mins.

Better things to do with my time today.

Will wait for the first bill to arrive.

Sigh..... it was working well on Vodafone as needed no contact with their call center. VTV just worked

Try going to log in page and use the password reset.

That worked for me, seems they already registered for us but didn't communicate that.

Edit: or my email address is still linked to a sky account from many years back

I can't tell yet whether mine has gone up or not. I'm cable customer, so Vodafone will still be providing broadband services.

I got my first Sky bill today, so I know how much that bit will cost. I'm waiting to see how much the Vodafone bill is. I'm sure they'll combine to more than I paid previously.

I have two Vodafone TV devices. It looks like Vodafone charge a monthly $25 for "multiroom", but I didn't pay this previously with Vodafone? (not super clear looking at vodafone bill)

I managed to get into my Sky account that had been setup up for me by Vodafone - thanks - but it would have been nice to tell me so I didn't spend time trying to create one.

Anyway I saw what the first bill was going to be for Sky Starter and Sky Entertainment. When comparing Sky Entertainment to Vodafone Sky Entertainment it was the same ( had to work it out as Vodafone is GST exclusive and Sky is GST inclusive).

However on Vodafone bill VodafoneTV and Sky Starter are bundled together for one price. This price is equal to what Sky will be charging me Sky Starter. I am assuming then that Vodafone will not be charging me for VodafoneTV until it ceases in September.

Typically there are two different discounts on myVodafone bill that ensure that the total amount is no more than was agreed with the person in the call center regardless of the individual amounts.  It is the latter amount that I will be looking to see I am paying no more for both Vodafone services and Sky packages until September at least regardless of who is billing it. I have broadband as well.

I will miss my VTV

^^ Although I was very critical of VF regarding VTV at the outset, now that it has settled down, it's fantastic. I am really going to miss being able to re-start The Chase at 5:30 pm, skip all ads - then re-start the news at 6:15 pm. and skip ads. Doing this, we watch nearly two hours of programming without any ads (and can skip the COV bits we hate) in about 1h 15m. Brilliant and I'll do it hard when it's gone.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

You could find a modded Tivo (although they are getting on a bit now). The mod reinstated the 30 sec skip feature - so TV1 prime time, eight presses of the skip and you've missed the ads.
