MikeB4:

Okay with the office empty I have rebooted the TC440 and HG659. Speed is close to what it was yesterday that is 897mbps download and 94.6mbps  upload and 9ms ping. Shouldn't need to reboot every few days, this is silly. ...

Yes, it is. undecided

If you stick with cable you should reboot at least once a week - it does improve performance (for a while wink).

Personally, if I had the option of getting "real" fibre, I would take it, regardless of price.  tongue-out

Fibre > cable. Even if I could get cable I still wouldn't. Fibre just works, all the time, regardless of the time of day.

I am going to think on it tonight and decide what to do. A stable connection is very important to us as is continuity

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Turns out some more branches need to be cut/trimmed. Yet another day without fibre.

Ugh.

Connection has been performing pretty poorly today, and I'm trying to work from home. Averaging just above 100 Mbps, and haven't broken 200 Mbps all day.

Oh, how I wish fibre were installed this morning. :\

Connection seems pretty happy now. Back over 800 Mbps with 70+ Mbps upload and reasonable latency.

I have decided to move on from FibreX, it is simply to unstable. Something in the FibreX network is broken or it's being asked to do something it simply is not up to. I need to decide do I stay with VF or go to another ISP.

I'm personally switching, but Vodafone's fibre is decent enough according to Truenet's reports. Vodafone's Always Connected promise has kept me going when home broadband otherwise went down as well.

Aside from the particularly bad providers such as TrustPower, you really can't go wrong with fibre. No matter who you go with, it will be a substantial improvement over what you're dealing with now.
