I believe Vodafone don't provide fibre if you can get cable? Not sure if this is still the case.

I have discussed this with them
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
...and they said?

pretty sure they will now, was in another thread here

Sorry I went to edit that post but got called away. They advised that their policy is if you are in an area with the own network (HFC) they will only connect to HFC, however cases where a customer wishes UFB these are dealt with individually and the reason for this assessed.

The minute UFB is available I will be moving to it. If VF want to keep me on HFC then its one longstanding customer they will lose.

On voyager I was maxing out my pathetic 20something megabit vdsl line on steam downloads. Its strange that even with the sale on, the only people that seem to be having problems with steam are those on a certain red ISP on the mislabeled to the point of an investigation network.
Perhaps steam is something that truenet need to add to their tests?
I am pretty ignorant about steam but if it is just a file, then please advise a suitable file - about 5MB
Connection's been performing much better over the past several days. Continues to go well today:

Fibre install is still scheduled and I will still be switching, but I'm happy to see improvement regardless.
This morning our connection is terrible >150mbps download and >80mbps upoad
I am now rebooting daily to restore service to average performance, this is not good . If the issues being reported here are indicative of what FibreX customers are receiving then I would think that FibreX is bordering on 'not fit for purpose' I feel like I am back in 1995 and doing the morning ritual of firing up the modem but without the cool sound.
Edit; experiencing short outages again today.

Mine has been stable since the upgrade.... touch wood.

I haven't used it this morning because I am at work so can't give feedback on that, sorry.
Hopefully it's good when I get home.

I would be interested in what site/s you are trying to download/upload from. You do seem to have more issues than most. Most of the issues I see in these forums are not due to the ISP but rather international issues or downstream/upstream issues. My 200/20 FibreX is very stable lately especially since I changed some hardware and drivers.
Assuming you have already signed up for UFB, so it will be interesting to see how you go there. Based on what I am paying for 200/20 I believe you are still paying too much for yours.
I check from time to time to the same servers, they are VF Wellington ASC Data Wellington and VF Auckland and Spark Christchurch. I use the same severs for consistency so the comparisons make sense. What will happen is I will or my wife will log on and things will seem sluggish eg Email, VPN to Auckland Office, General browsing and Cloud. At that point I will check speeds to the listed sites and if this confirms slow performance I will reboot the TC4400 and the HG659.

Anyone experiencing absolutely terrible speed today?
Download speeds below 100mbps
