Has anyone else noticed the dramatic reduction in spam as we got closer to the closure of Vodafone's range of email accounts. Like the spam filter finally clicked in or the spammers got wind of it.

Spam is very cyclic. I don't use any filtering on my mail servers, and I've received very little over recent days, with none received on the 3rd.
I had a client who just found out today about the email closure (they are elderly and had been in hospital for a month or so I believe, which is why they hadn't caught up with it).
They have an @vodafone.co.nz address - I was able to download around 300 messages into their Outlook (as in the desktop mail application), then setup an Outlook.co.nz account, setup the forward using the link from the 'your email account is closing down tomorrow' email, which all went through normally.
Should that still have worked? Any ideas if the forward will actually get setup?
Should all be fine and will take about 24 hours

>I didn't set up email forwarding with this particular clear.net.nz email account.<
Understood.
As soon as I am happy that nothing more is being sent to my old Clear address, I'll log in to my account and delete the email altogether.
Yesterday Wednesday for me pop.clear.net.nz stopped working :)
Cannot get into webmail either. However the one that is forwarded I can still access the webmail and see my previous many yr old sent emails.
I have an old Paradise email address (it wasn't old two weeks ago) that is being diverted to a Gmail address I have now become aware that some mail is being returned to sender (old line from a song !) with the following messages...
Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred
Diagnostic code: smtp;554 5.7.1 DNS Blacklisted by safe.dnsbl.sorbs.net
Remote system: dns;10.80.52.112 (TCP|192.168.16.53|50025|10.80.52.112|25) (redirect2.vodafone.co.nz ESMTP Postfix)

Check the headers of the bounced emails ... and my Message #1908973 of 28-Nov-2017.
Apologies, we are working to resolve this issue ASAP
Still cannot get email to either outlook online (outlook.com) or to outlook mail client on my PC since and I have a period of email that is now only available on the clear.net.nz server that I want to download to retain before I cannot access it. I have imported into GMAIL, but it appears not all email got imported (about 200 emails shy I think) and no sent emails.

Gets the popcorn out for this one. redirect2.vodafone.co.nz is sending Spam (as Vodafone's spam filters are as good as tits on a bull), and SORBS is a third party that tracks such activity. Will be interested to see how Vodafone 'resolve' the issue.

Ok, so all email in my inbox imported to GMAIL, I was able to confirm this after turning conversation view off. However why can I not import my sent mail...?
Kinda silly if you expected Vodafone to be able to manage spam once email was shutdown, when they couldnt manage it for years and was the reason for the shutdown.
They are a marketing Company and a very poor telco.
JMTPW, but people have had 3 months to migrate and sort out any problems !!

Some people just love to leave things to the very last second...
