Beats paying expensive hotel dataplans.
sbiddle: I know I've knocked Vodafone in the past for many things but this really is one of the best things they have done in a long time - it's just a shame it's taken so long to appear.
sbiddle: The only thing I'd still love to see a provider launch is a truely Prepaid Data SIM - ie being able to load a 1GB block onto a SIM which is valid for say 6 months.
I will certainly use a lot more data now and will tether my laptop using Bluetooth when needed. With the arrival of cheap data cards and integrated mini notes it would be nice to be able to have a SIM in this permanently but not have to commit to a minimum $10 spend.
PaulBrislen: @richms, can you not buy a prepay SIM, stick it in the device and then just top it up using the $10/100MB process? then it's a data only SIM and there's no swapping back and forth.
Or are you talking about something else?
cheers
paul
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
hairy1: Has anyone tried to add these yet? I just rang to try and add the pack and the CSR told me that these packs are only for prepay and not for on account. She was quite insistent that they would never be available for on account.
Paul Brislen:
6 April - On Account launches.
15 April - Prepay launches.
