Our Network Status Page has been updated now - not sure why it wasn't there before. Cheers for the heads up.

Good :) In Firefox the big orange "under repair" button/logo thingy obscures details of the problem, in IE it's not as bad. Can't check Chrome etc from here. Your web developer needs a kick in the butt!

Call them up, they can probably manually release transactions.

Would this be related to twitter SMS not working on VFNZ? Stopped receiving texts at 4:05pm yesterday but more should have come.

Stuff Article extract from earlier today:

Vodafone said today that its customers were still having intermittent problems sending and receiving texts to and from Telecom's network and texting short codes.

That was affecting ASB's Netcode service, which uses two-factor authentication to secure money transfers and services such as TXT-a-Park.

The bank advised affected customers to use phone banking or a mobile application instead.

No advisory was visible on Vodafone's mobile network status page, accessed from Vodafone's homepage, earlier today. A spokeswoman said a notification had been put up elsewhere on its website. Vodafone added the advisory to its main network status page after Fairfax queried the omission.

Whatever the reason, I find it pretty poor that the two big Telco's generally don't post advisories of issues and often aren't even aware of issues until they are pointed out to them.

Things go wrong but it's very easy to keep people informed about the issues. This has been going on for three days now and the message on Vodafone's status page only refers to today and that there are intermittent delays which is glossing over the issue really.

Matt.

I did and they did.

But that wasn't the point.

There was a $28 charge to manually transfer my funds versus an $18 charge had I been able to get online and do it myself.

I was assured that I would receive a $10 credit tonight

While I realise we could have put the notice up on our Network Status page sooner and I apologise that we didn't, in my view I think you'll be hard pressed to find any Telco anywhere in the world who would make more detailed technical information available about their current outages. We're not updating the page because there really is nothing new to update.

I honestly don't know what more I can say other than reiterating that we're sorry, and we're working on it.  :( The fact that johnr is conspicuously absent from any online activity today should speak for itself.

Cheers,
Lon

Thanks for the post Lon.

I wasn't asking for more detailed technical information, I was commenting that the approach to keeping clients informed isn't the greatest and the only public advisory made was done so two days after the initial issue and only after prompting from your clients. This is a three day issue that isn't intermittent or delayed for a lot of people. I feel your network status message doesn't reflect the extent of the issue. I rely on places like geekzone to find out what's going on because actual information from the Telco's is very sparse.

Cheers
Matt.

Quick question, I myself am on 2degrees (with a old 021 number) and the mrs who is with vodafone. It's been affecting my 2 degrees number aswell as my other 027 (work number). These are related I assume?

We're aware of a delay with texts between us and Telecom - can you describe the issue you're having with texts from 2Degrees? Some more detail would be awesome.
