Traffic management applies and you must have a vf on account mobile. Not really naked broadband if they tie it in to a phone.
You don't *have* to have an On Account mobile with us, but if you do and it's linked to your home broadband account you get the $30 broadband discount. Seeing as the On Account mobile plans start at $29 a month that seems pretty sweet. The mobile can be a work one if that's what you use.

Where is the $29 on account plan?

Not to high-jack this post, but when did the Ultra Fast Naked Broadband - Cable 80Gig price dropped from $95 to $85? The reason I ask is that I've just changed today from the Lightwave 60Gig to the 80Gig plan and it's going to cost me $65 (after discount) per month.

VF Sales Agent have said that price ($55) is for the ADSL only.

I did actually read through the thread before I replied, so my question may come from my ignorance of how traffic management works, if so I apologise, but it's why I asked.

I know P2P is deprioritised when traffic is high, and this applies across all plans (capped and uncapped). But the actual point at which traffic is deemed high/peak is the same across all plans or not allocated different usage pools?

This is the kind of thing that irks me, it seems to never be simple dealing with ISPs, so often sales/helpdesk staff tell you one thing which you know is incorrect (based on what is advertised), yet you have to argue just to get them to come around.

I think I'll given them a call soon to double check my order status. I've received confirmation email but that does not show any pricing only confirmation of new services.

I hope I don't have to wait long on hold as I was only on hold for 3 mins this morning.

Soooooo unlimited Naked VDSL for $79. Interesting.

Cheapest unlimited VDSL in the market by at least $10.

so doing a bit of math, that is fixed ARPU of $68 when you remove GST, with no possibility to earn landline calling revenues on top (cos it's naked).

Given you pay Chorus ~$50 per month for VDSL, that leaves about $19 to spend on everything else. (you aren't using your own LLU I believe for VDSL)

So after all your other 'stuff' (modem, support staff, sales commission, product management, marketing, profit etc) how much of that $19 are you allocating to international bandwidth? $2? $3?

It's Okay now. Just checked my email again and noticed that I had hidden sneaky PDF attachment. The document does confirm that I'm going to be billed the new price for $55 per month. WooHoo. So at no extra change I'm now bumped up to 80GB from 60GB and a speed improvement from 15Mbps to 50Mbps. Only thing is I'm now committed to a 12 month term. Oh-well.

VF Sales staff should really properly notified of new price changes as I'm sure they get complacent last know price plane.

It's ~$45 for Naked DSL, then add on the $5 for monthly wiring for the first 30 months. total $50 per month.
ADSL is the same, but without the wiring.

Are you referring to different input pricing? Maybe the pricing that has been announced, not yet implemented, and is under review with the comcom and government debacle?

Why do you care how much money they make? They have decided as a company it's "enough" and believe they can bear the extra load on the network. They aren't going to risk potentially losing thousands of customers by deliberately overselling the infrastructure, and if they get it wrong,
they probably have deep enough pockets they will "make it right".

What do existing customers have to pay to sign up? I assume $100 for the modem/router but what about upgrading your connection?
