I wouldnt say people are talking less because of the high cost...I would say its to do with people embracing alternative means of communication, the most obvious if txting, but then thare smartphones where people can use VoIP and go online and Twitter etc...so their voice income stream is being eating up by the ever growing data stream, which is less profitable...at this time.

sounds just like an article I read yesterday actually.

In other countries etc with cheap data, they are basically making no money off of it, and so they can't invest too much money in hardware otherwise they start losing profitability (well, losing more)
