Hmm. I got the email as well. Not sure if I can go though. Has Vodafone had other meetings like this?

I would if they sent me an invite. Maybe because I already own an E71 I don't qualify? Perhaps the small fortune I spend on my VF bill isn't enough to please them?

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

I have an iPhone 3GS on an iPhone plan and I still got the email. I think you'll find it will have more to do with your profile as to why you didn't receive the email.

Take a look at your profile on Vodafone's site and see if the boxes are ticked, so to speak, for you to receive promotional material and through which medium (text, email, etc).

Did you sign up to a mailing list with them to be able to recieve this?

I recieved one that mentioned the HTC Magic, rather than the iPhone. I had specifically signed up a month or two ago to recieve more information.

Stop being paranoid that your telco doesn't love you simply because you believe you pay a small fortune.

I have seen telco staff not care about $20k a month customers leaving, let alone $500 a month customers. $50 - $200 a month are not "small fortunes" for phone bills. (In my oft-contested opinion).

We have had people on here as recently as a month ago complaining that their telco was contacting them without permission. Now we have the other end of the scale.

Can please a minority of people a tiny amount of the time I suspect!

:o)

My email specifically mentioned the HTC Magic mailing list. I would have gone but am working.... Stink!

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Me too. It would seem you need to have signed up to something previously to get offers in the future. Doesn't seem to be anything 'unchecked' in my profile, or for that matter anywhere to 'check' or 'uncheck' should I wish to receive offers or not, although I'm sure there was, and I'm sure I did.

Such is life!

Contract's up for renewal this month.

No paranoia Tony. Just trying to figure out how VF decide who to invite to these things. Every company has their ways, and they're usually all different. I get invites all the time for IT hardware and software vendors and distributors, but never found a "way in" to the Vodafone invites. I usually sign up for info about upcoming products etc as I know they'll arrive eventually, and when they do there'll be plenty of info and opinions right here on GZ and that'll usually answer any questions I may have.

Was the mailing list from the HTC "Mission Magic" competition perhaps?
