How are you connected? Wifi or Ethernet?

ethernet.

Wifi delivers almost 500mbs to the laptop, but the box is via cable.  Our Roku loads netflix and youtube almost instantly.

It took at least 3 goes just to rewind the 6 news back to the beginning. So annoying. Everything is hard to do.

When we first got it we were stoked, we finally had a VF box that didn't cause us problems, the last one was a nightmere as well, but especially over the last few weeks its just got progressively  worse

I am pretty pissed off with it now. Time to start shaking some trees.

VF Box is nearly bloody unusable right now. Every time you try to change freeview channels you get "Channel not subscribed". Only by using the channel selector button on the remote and going up and down, do you eventually get the channel to load.

For what it’s worth, I just checked ours (WiFi connected) because we very seldom use the channel-select button - and it’s fine.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Thanks. I was hoping that VF issues would be behind me since this new box started out so well.

I suggest trying it on WiFi and if it works better then you may have a bad ethernet cable, one that is experiencing interference from electrical cables nearby, or possibly a bad router or port on the router.
Some routers have an error table indicating if there are problems on the connection to a port. You may want to check this. By the way what speed is your broadband?

I am trying to pair a second BL 193 remote to the Vodafone Gen2 Set Top Box but this appears to not be possible. Although the remote status under Settings says that it is using Bluetooth to communicate with the remote I believe this only relates to the first remote that was paired, as any attempt to control the box with the second remote causes the remote to flash red around the power button and use infrared. Is it a bug that only one remote can be paired at a time using Bluetooth?

I am assuming that this same problem would occur if a Harmony Elite Remote was attempted to be paired while the pairing for the original remote still exists. This causes problems if a remote needs to be replaced.

There are clearly problems with replacing a remote or having more than one remote for a Gen2 box. When will these be addressed?

Hi all, first time poster. Apologies if I should’ve opened a new topic

Got the Vodafone TV box and have it running nicely except for Netflix. I can’t open the app and have an error message “Netflix ESN is not valid”. Have looked in information and there is no ESN number allocated in that field.

Any help appreciated.

I’d be grateful if someone could confirm to me how ‘3 Day Rewind’ works. Probably naively I thought maybe I could go to, say, TV One and simply rewind that channel for up to three days’ programming - back to where I want to start watching.

It seems that’s not how it works - which fair enough. But it seems that ‘3 Day Rewind’ somehow morphs into ‘watching previously aired shows’. This operates by searching for a programme that you want to watch and then selecting it - so in the case of TV One, it’s not very different to TVNZ On Demand. If that’s the case, it’s hardly ‘rewind’.

Is this correct or am I missing something?

Sorted. Checked tonight and the Netflix app is working. Assume it was a timing issue with syncing/registering.

3day rewind is very different to using On Demand apps as the content is available immediately from the same server (CDN) as the live VTV service. You can simply go backwards from live... but not using the rewind button as that would take too long! Instead, use the D-pad (direction pad) up down arrows while watching live tv.. this then brings up a view of all the programmes available on 3 - day rewind for each channel... just hit the left d-pad arrow to rewind/select the program you want to watch and it will start playing immediately, no launching apps etc. then you can use the fast forward/rewind and 20sec skip buttons.

The alternative option is to go to the guide and go back in the epg as you say.

3 day rewind can fast forward adds, can't do that TVNZ on demand

It's same quality as broadcast, not the case with TVNZ on demand. Dolby digital sound not lost as is with TVNZ on demand.

So 3 day rewind lot better then TVNZ on demand.

I was using guide method, other method looks like may be better.

With Disney+ launching next week I'm keen to understand if there are any plans for Disney+ on VTV?

Could be a new issue to report, 3 times today so far the tv channel would just freeze for a moment then go blank. Normally I can just channel up then down to get it going again but this time it threw the error "connection was lost". Tried a channel up and down again and it started again.

Notified our operations team and they are looking into any CDN or CMS glitches this evening. Thanks for reporting.

FYI this is still happening, just had a big glitch on TV3 (like the picture scrambled/stalled then died), tried channel cycling for 2 mins and got nothing on all channels, sound came back on TV3 but no picture so I've had to pull the plug to get it going again

@sansom Thanks for this. But how could I have known that if I hadn’t asked here and got your response? Is this explained anywhere - like instructions or a manual? I read the blurb that came in the box and the FAQs on your site - and didn’t see it anywhere.
