IvanPiacun:

Is support for Vodafone TV winding down, as this morming I am getting Channel not subscribed messages, and problem connecting on both of my Vodafone TV boxes? It's not my internet becasue that works fine streaming Youtube form a Laptop. Also one of my boxes said that it needed to be reset, which I did not do! I thas now come right.

My understanding is we're experiencing a global VTV outage.

Good call not resetting your box, please do not reset them.

Edit: Should be resolved now.

Yes I jave uad the 'connecting to I telnet' problem last few days and this morning in Auckland. Decided on no hard reset because I am that lazy and decided it was likely system issue not my particular single box.

Are we to simply throw the bare units and cables etc, into the bag without protection from any type of damage?

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

What are you worried about?  They are going to be broken up for raw materials, not reused.

If you go back to the earlier points in this thread it was made repeatedly clear they they are design to be 100% impossible to reuse for security reasons.  Why the paranoia over securing them in the days of quality sub $100 media players was never made clear, but it was made clear they could never ever ever be reused in way.

I assume the case will be separated in to plastic and metal parts and the PCBAs shredded and melted down for rare earth materials.

So throw then in the courier pack and be happy you have done your part to save the world!

If only - this shows how far Sky NZ is so behind the 8 ball serving up near redundant tech to those wedded to their dishes in urban areas - Sky UK has instructed installers they will no longer installing satellite reception gear from next year and this is what they are offering as of last month - somewhat reminiscent of the market dominance the Vodafone Europe have in aggregated content.

Vodafone has agreed to delay the closure of its VodafoneTV service for the third time to give more time for Sky TV to provide more options for viewers.
Vodafone announced in December that it would shut down the service, which was then used by about 100,000 households, by the end of September, before delaying that to the end of October and then to the end of November.
Sky chief executive Sophie Moloney said at Sky’s annual meeting in Auckland that Vodafone had now agreed to keep the service open over the summer break.
The delay will give Sky more time to make its delayed new Sky box available to Vodafone customers who need to switch the way they watch television.

Thanks for posting that, I was wondering what was happening!

I guess another delay was looking inevitable. Now that November has arrived and there is still no news from Sky as to how Vodafone customers can migrate, it was becoming obvious that they're not going to be able to meet the scheduled deadline. At least they're not going to just pull the plug and leave us with nothing.

Maybe Vodafone should not have "cancelled" their service.

Wonder what month Summer Break ends. Is it just Christmas holidays or the official summer months.
Made me very happy so thanks Vodafone. At this rate we may still have it in winter.

My guess is they are being vague because they are sick of being embarrassed by the repeated date changes,  Note they don't say which summer break...

Bet there's not much love lost between VF and Sky.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
