Hmm... i've been keeping an eye on my FibreX Max speed, using Mikrotik hEX and last few weeks, the speed just seem to be less than satisfying.

Anyone getting this disappointing speed?

I'm in Christchurch, Sockburn/Upper Riccarton area.

Silly question but is the Mikrotik capable of running 1gig wan connections? Or have your speeds been in good and just been like the above since you put the Hex in?

My results on the Max plan are in the 900/100 range but I am in wellington and running a pfsense box.

Speed's been great first week or so on Mikrotik, then over the last couple of weeks it's gone down terribly. I'm not sure if the speed wasn't provisioned correctly.

Internet is my backyard...

The status page seems to be an issue for Vodafone!

A family member in Upper Hutt rang me after their Internet stopped working at about 9am that day. Seems very suspicious timing! She phoned Vodafone, and got a recorded message saying there were problems around the region. Early afternoon it started up again.
I wonder if the first 20 customers are still experiencing this loss after four days?

Still can't get online connecting through WKH node. :/

Vodafone have offered mobile data, but I have to go get a Vodafone SIM card on Sunday when the bus schedules are frustratingly poor.

On my way now, though. Seems like it'll be a good bit cheaper than Spark, so I'm planning to switch entirely.

Switched over to Vodafone for my mobile. Oh man, this is so much faster than Spark so far! It was also painless to get the 100 GB mobile data added, thankfully.

This should be adequate until WKH is kicked back into working order. It'll be nice to not have to worry at all about mobile data usage for a while as well.

Previously on Spark I'd get really flaky 3G. Here's Vodafone's 4G at my place in Island Bay:

It's over an order of magnitude faster. Colour me impressed!

They gave you 100GB (apparently)? Seriously? I would get that in writing before starting to use large amounts of mobile data.

It's actually pretty standard procedure for them right now. I helped some friends sort out a connection issue at an old flat and Vodafone offered to give 100 GB of mobile data there as well. Unfortunately no one had a SIM card, but I was at least able to get that connection working by swapping the SKY modem with their Internet modem until a Downer technician got there to sort out the wiring.

Voda did advertise this capability for about 4 weeks pre Xmas, but not the the data pack. TBH we could easily burn 100gb in a week with a fam of 4.

Shame there isn't a device that can be plugged into the voda router to replace the dodgy wan - having data on 1 sim on one mobile is a bit naff when the house needs service

Internet is back in Island Bay! :) I figure I'll be strictly using 4G on my phone for the next week, though, since almost all WiFi connections will be slower, haha.

I'm in Island Bay on node WKH.

Complete outage from 8am to 10pm.

The (very helpful) VF ninja told me that 50 faults had been reported in the area.

Normal speed tests after 10pm.
