My speeds seem ok tonight (cable connection in Wellington.)

In fact, these are the quickest results I've ever had to Citylink:

I had particularly poor performance last night on TCL Cable.  It seems that transparent proxies were all broken as I couldn't browse to a number of US sites I was trying to get to.
Then when I VPN'ed into work it was better browsing via my US Proxy server.

What was worse is that I then went onto my XT Datacard and had a more responsive browsing experience than over TCL Cable... Not good.

Ridiculously low international speed in Christchurch, past week. Some sites barely coming up at all.

The problem seems to be a large amount of packets being dropped internationally. Trying to play online poker and timing out of every second hand is costing me decent amounts of money right now. Frown

Is very sluggish for shockwave.com (unable to download latest game) out here in Kapiti.

Quite slow on other international sites as well.

EDIT:  "The current wait time is currently 62 minutes" ....hahaha, man you need a sense of humour in these situations just to stay sane

Got a "The current wait time is currently 69 minutes" message last week on a job. We started ragging on the pathetic wait time and I put the phone back to my ear to hear someone saying "hello... hello". If only they answered that quick all the time!

ADSL is not very snappy at this point in time either...

I realise Cable is convenient, but you may like to look at other providers if it's been as bad as you've reported for as long as you say...

Good thinking.
