Very impressed thus far with picture quality. Even the SD channels are leaps and bounds above the old digital STB. Discovery is watchable again!

I have had one sound issue on TV3 thus far. That was last night. Also have had the odd issue with the feed 'freezing' (much like its been paused). But over all very pleased with my upgrade.

Benny: I've had no issues with PPV on either the ADB stb or the DVB-C stb. Click the Now's good button on your remote and have a play.

Am referring to PPV events like WWE/UFC. Not the Box Office movies. So we can order these now?

@Benny. Those PPV events are exactly like Box Office channels. Except they scheduled at specific time - which may require pre-booking. I think this is not any difference with MySkyHDi too as that's what I heard when they're doing PPV event, telling people to pre-book it.

Oh, wow.  I didn't realise that there was anyone who actually watched those!  Cool.  Interesting,

Guess they need to update their website answer then.

As much as I'm glad TCL is now rolling out their PVR I'm glad I still have MySkyHDi whilst they iron out the bugs!

As or features, Sky have just announced their intention for web based delivery - http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=8967

It will be interesting to see where the features war will take these two!  Hopefully it will mean better product for us the consumer.

I think that Sky will always win as it seems Telstraclear is hamstrung by what Sky will let them do (e.g. the fact that it seems TCL needed Sky's approval/assistance before they could start showing TVNZ6/7).

It would be interesting, for example, whether Telstraclear get the data they need to be able to replicate the "record from an ad" feature that MySkyHDi now has (the one where you can push the green button to automatically add the related programme/movie that is being shown in the promo to be recorded)

Does it switch itself off when it has finished recording.
What happens if a program goes over time.

The box doesn't need to be "on" for recording (ie it can be in standby and will still record). There's an option for padding recordings (i.e. add x minutes before / after the advertised time) but don't believe if the program goes over time that it will keep recording.

Presume we are still talking about MySkyHDi - in that case there is also an 'Auto' option for the recording buffer.  Sky will also automatically change day and time for recordings on series link and I have had at least one auto extend.  If it's really important I also record the next programme just to be safe - did that with the footy during the World Cup!

Sorry was talking about the T Box.

I can't find any way to extend the recording to allow for any prog overrun (UkTV is a good example, sometimes overruns by 10 mins)

In settings there is an option to add x minutes before and after but that then counts as recording during that hour as well (in terms of counting your 2 channels to record and one 2 watch) and can cause other recordings to fail. After a couple of weeks I turned the padding off and have found it much better.

My god they are useless.

I called on Saturday and ordered it, they said it would be installed today (wed) I've just called them because I haven't heard anything and it's after 5pm, after 40 minutes on the phone and being passed back and forward between the installers and TC, I'm told that it was never booked in that "there's no record of it" and that they can't install it before NEXT Wednesday.

Total fail Telstra. I'm not impressed.
