Ummm, so is that not what I am reading, folk have been taken off their HFC cable and T-Box, moved to Wireless and VTV, that is what Wilko is implying....................no?

Cyril

@cyril7 Some serious confusion going on here and VTV streamed over the 4G network from 100s of users would kill 4G

This is confusing. I hope someone clears this up. There is too much fake news around these days.

A 300 gig Data Cap won't last long if using VTV to watch TV channels also I'm sure it says the box that it requires a Fibre Connection with unlimited data.

Customers cannot be sold VTV on Wireless Broadband.  There is nothing stopping someone buying a Gen2 and putting it on Wireless broadband, not an ideal proposition.  HFC customers would be moved to fibre with VTV but not Wireless Broadband.

Hi, so clearly some ambiguous detail here, would be good to get to the bottom of it.

Edit: and I am not just referring to the vtv on 4g, but the whole HFC status, clearly something is up.

So they are running VTV over 4G, that does not add up, well thats what I take from you comments

Cyril

@cyril7 No way they are running TV over 4G what a load of BS

May not look the best from a logical pov, however i tried it running off a b315 and it works. I am about to move out of town and use one on a wisp that allows it. (unlimited, speed restricted)

Hi all, did we get any clarity on whether Cable is being decommissioned? Would be great to hear from the VF team on this.

I've only read the headline of the thread...HFC is still an important part of our business and we continue to support it and offer it to customers. Nothing has changed from our perspective. Any individual help - please email me Jason.paris@vodafone.com.

Hope that helps

JP

However, HFC hasn't been available on the website for over a month now.

Arguably JP's comment leaves some wriggle room for not offering it to new customers. It certainly doesn't explain why it's not available on the website.

I do note that VF have recently added a button "Already with us? Renew your plan here" to the top of the 'Get Broadband' page. This would enable them to keep offering HFC to existing customers, while pushing new customers onto alternative technologies.

I used that feature, but it asks me to call when I was expecting a self-service solution. Perhaps, it's only a Wizard of Oz prototype to gauge interest for now.

Can I please ask what plan you're on + monthly cost? I'm still on 50/2 and pay approx $100 incl. landline.

HFC max 700 to 900 down and 100 up. Plus VOIP phone with unlimited national calls and five best mates plus I got a twinset of panasonic cordless phones for nothing.

Pay $82.97 per month. If you don't ask you don't get.
