I am on 10 GB Vodafone / TelstraClear ADSL Broadband plan / connection.

I am using a Macbook and Firefox to run www.speedtest.net.

 

My Speedtest.net data is:

Ping: 53ms

Download: 3.86Mbps

Upload: 0.49Mbps

 

Why is my upload speed so much slower?

Is there anything I can do to improve the Upload speed, even at the expense of some Download speed?

The ratio can't be changed. ADSL without annex M will only deliver around 800kbps tops for most users. Annex M increases this to around 2Mbps by sacrificing some downstream but it's not available on any Chorus equipment.
