I'm trying to tidy up the outside of the house at the moment, and the infamous TCL "ugly grey box" is in the middle of the wall near the front door . Given that I've no intention of it ever being hooked up again, is there a) Any reason that I can't just rip it off, and B) Anything I should bear in mind when doing so?

I know that there's no telephony or anything else hooked up to it as the installer who reconnected the house back up to Telecom was cursing the TCL installer for having butchered the connections which he had to replace.

The existing cables have been installed in the usual half-arsed "drill a hole in the wall and poke the cable through" so I can just pull it out and plaster up the hole. (I wonder if the installers still charge TCL\VF for the junction box despite rarely using them?).

Its pretty much destruction of property and you could be liable for repairs if say the network is damaged. Contact our desk and get them to log a ticket to remove the network from your premises with good reason.

best advice thus far Tim

Its a daisy chain network. So it could cause 3-4 or how ever many to lose connection.
@OP. Yes, You need to have it removed by Downer, Yes if you cowboy rip it off and cause damage, You will be fronting up a decent bill.

Call stating:
I am not a VF customer with Cable, I dont want the network on the side of my house. I want it removed. game over. Done.
