I wonder if it is possible at all, like when you switch between networks in NZ, you get to keep your mobile number, am I able to do the same when moving to another part of the world as in EU and still keep my number?

The two companies - while they may have the same parent - do not operate in the way to allow numbers to be moved like that. The number ranges are different anyway; I doubt you would get "021 XXXXXX"-anything.
