We currently have ADSL. Vodafone has offered us a deal for unlimited VDSL and Sky package.

My question is with Sky going through the internet all the time will it make my online games lag. I asked the lady on the phone and all she said was it depends on how many computers are on the internet.

Also we have 3 Sky decoders in the house.

Thanks

Im not sure about PhantomB's statement "When you get fiber+vodafone+sky its IPTV streamed over your connection". If that is true then Vodafone have made a hash of the service descriptions on it's wesbite (or just lifted it straight from Sky's descriptions without cusotmising them). The term "IPTV" is not mentioned, and it mentions a host of things that would not be needed if it was an IPTV only service with no tradtional satellite. For example permission from landlords to install satellite dishes and installation fees for first time sky installs. it also describes the hardware options as Sky's standard couple of choices; the standard sky box or MySky decoder and describes features like time shifting & recording which wouldnt be needed with IPTV. It does mention that these set top boxes can connect your broadband and get Sky OnDemand. It doesnt say you must connect it to your broadband to use the service.

The page you linked above very clearly says "For TV you’ll always want to watch, add SKY to your Vodafone standard broadband or VDSL bill". It's for satellite Sky that's a simple billing addon.

If you have Vodafone TV over UFB it's IPTV delivered over Multicast to the Vodafone STB. That's on this page here http://www.vodafone.co.nz/tv/vodafone-tv/
