I have 2 Samsung Mobile Devices:
Note 4 and Tab S2.
Note 4 bought from Spark, and Tab S2 bought from 2 Degrees.

Issue same on both devices:
They do not connect to Mobile Data automatically when I leave my wifi network, leaving me disconnected.
I cycle the Mobile Data and they still do not connect.
I have to reset the device to get Mobile Data working.

When speaking with 2 Degrees store they said it was because I was using a Vodafone SIM, but gave no good reason why this would be the case.

Why would I not automatically connect to Mobile Data?

OK,

I should have known better, I suppose I did not check the APN because the device worked after Turn On and restart. So still weird.

So far so good...
Looks like my APN setup was old "www.vodafone.net.nz"
replaced it with "vodafone".
Only done some prelim tests, and going well now. will report back if either fails again.

I think I also need to be weary of further firmware updates as I believe these are carrier aligned (based on the carrier whom i bought the device from), hence firmware update could remove my APN settings ????

Anyway better informed.

What I cannot work out is how did my phone get old APN settings. Are they held on the SIM card, or pulled down when I first insert SIM and turn on device.
