Hi all

So I have lost all connectivity from my home VDSL connection to WxC/VNGSL or whatever the correct acronym is now. The last successful connection I had was at 11:51 am this morning. Sometime between then and 12:15 pm something happened. I unplugged my router for a full minute and reconnected it but the indicator LEDs are still red.

I have been trying to call their 0800 support line on my mobile ever since, but it sits on the on-hold music for several minutes then just drops the connection with no warning. Their website is offline too so I guess they are having some troubles, which may or may not be related...

Anyone have any idea if this is widespread or localized? I'm in Upper Hutt.

Thanks
Christopher

It's widespread, I'm in the North Shore and no VDSL for me either :(

OK, good to know. So I guess it'll be a while before I can get through to find out if there is an ETA for resolution if all their customers are down.

If anyone else does manage to talk to them and they are able to provide further details it would be appreciated if you could post them here :)

I wonder if it's just VDSL customers and what (if any) other providers/networks are affected. I'd look into it a bit further myself but am running low on mobile data and don't know how long it will have to last...

ADSL2+ Pakuranga East Auckland down since 12:30. Don't even get hold music, just disconnect from their 2 support numbers. GZ is the first place I've checked after some diagnostics, glad my wife has some 3G data.

Yep,

Massive outage. Nation wide, North to South.

VOIP network is down

Internet connections are down

Their 0800 toll free is down and their website

Feel free to contact Vodafone regarding your issue if it's urgent, but the most they can do is pass on the message.

Here's hoping everyone comes back online at the same time once they find the problem.

Bit of an update.

They're having some serious network issues on their end that could cause people to be offline for several hours or more (12hr+).

Look for alternate sources of that internet goodness if you need to get anything critical done online.

wonder what people would say if the whole telecom voice network went down for a protracted time.  do they have no multi-site redundancy?  did they have a fire?  did some hacker wipe their whole network config?  what happened?

VDSL VoIP and internet down here in Porirua . saw their website was down and assumed that Vodafone's takeover was to blame!

Based on Vodafones replies on Twitter all they are doing is passing the request on, seems they have no idea what is happening at Vodafone Next Gen /WXC

lack of info is frustrating. We are Mt Eden and it's been down since mid morning.

As we are a Vodafone business customer also, I called their customer service. Their only advice was to keep trying the WXC 0800 number, which of course was continuously dropping off. However my last call has remained connected, all be it on hold - 1hr29min and counting ..... probably a waste of time staying on the line... but feel I can't give up now after being so patient...cool

VF knows what's going on, but this fault is something that'll need time to be fixed. It's just one of those problems where we need to sit tight and just let the techs do their work to fix the faults causing the nation wide outage.
