Heya..

I'd like to offer asterisk voice prompts (generic ones) to all geekzone people.
Can someone post, or email to me a list of the generic prompts Asterisk uses, and what format they are in?

I understand there is currently no prompts in a NZ accent.

Cheers,
ZollyMonsta

There's this ... it's incomplete tho.

edit: oops my reply doesn't actually answer your question. sounds.txt from the Asterisk source code is quite long, I'll PM it to you now.

A

Ok, got the info (Thanks Aw) and found a converter... So I will make available sometime soon asterisk voice prompts in a Male NZ voice.

Just wondering where I could post the zip file and wether I need to have all the other stuff... or will a zip file with just the GSM files be ok and be able to be used?

Cheers,
ZollyMonsta

Just thought I would offer a male voice.  But if there's no one interested I probably should spend my time on something else :)

Heh!  I definitely think it would be worth while!

I'll even post it to the Daily Asterisk News for you!

Need anything in the way of audio editing?  I did the French prompts a while back and the editing was the hardest!

Ah.. perhaps I can gain fame (but no fortune).. :)

I have audtion so can edit easily.. and a professional mic and mic processing...
Found 'sox' last night which will convert to gsm.. but may need to do a test file and have someone confirm
it is converted correctly.

The biggest thing is finding the time.. :)

Yeah, you may want to also provide a copy in wav 48Khz and if you can be arsed a copy in ulaw (8Khz 16bit).

If you've got a g729 licence and Asterisk 1.4 you can also use the CLI command "convert" to convert them to g729, but that's getting extravagant!

Should be able to do that (well 48khz recordings).
Will post back here when I've managed to record the raw files to find out what I should do next :)
