Hi.

It would appear that my Linksys SPA2102 ATA has stopped working. Over the past week we started hearing some cyclic noises on our phone and noticed that the noise was in sync with the power led on the ATA, which was flashing green.

Last night to troubleshoot it I unplugged the power supply and reconnected it after a few minutes. The power led then started to vary between different states of solid red, flashing red, flashing green and solid green. It kept going through this process intermittently, which naturally disconnected calls or did not pass through calls. I left it disconnected overnight and today I get no activity on the ATA, i.e. no power light.

I've measured the voltage on the power supply and as expected it shows 5v.

I'm assuming the ATA is dead.

I'm currently using a softphone on my android phone to receive VOIP calls.

Can anybody recommend another model ATA under $120? I was looking at SPA122 but a search on these forums indicated firmware issues.

Regards
Harry

I'd try a replacement power supply first. The older Linksys devices have a habit of these dying from old age. Even with 5v showing at the output, it may not be able to supply the expected current draw, or have too much ripple.
