Can anyone confirm if vista rtm's tomorrow and is it only for msdn ? or cpp aswell

And why would Vista RTM be for the CPP?

Microsoft Windows Vista will RTM sometime this week. It will be available 7 days after RTM to MSDN Subscribers. It will then be sent to OEM, enterprise customers with general availablility for consumers for early 2007.

According to Mary Jo Foley The day has finally come: Windows Vista is going gold.

Foley mentions "the public announcement that Windows Vista has been released to manufacturing is going to happen tomorrow, November 8, around 11 a.m. PST, sources close to the company are saying."

Once the RTM has been announced the build should appear on MSDN at the same time according to Microsoft's press release of yesterday.

That press release did not concern Windows. Vista will appear on MSDN 7 days after RTM. But thats of little consequence to the majority

s.joseph (and others!)... There are certain things people here know, but can't disclose for lots of reasons. A NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement is the first thing that comes to my mind).

But you are right it's done. It's out. Now industry partners will have it to release through their channels. It will be available on MSDN within 7 days, and for general consumers on 30 January 2007.

It also the end of an era. This is the last of Jim Allchin's projects within Microsoft...

Yes Jim has had such a huge part in getting Windows to where it is. I'm sure he will be greatly missed from future releases.

As Mauricio said, there are some things we just can't say because of NDA etc. I can say though, that the new sounds scheme is nice but not everyone will like it and the new bootscreen is somewhat disappointing.
