What is the best software for burning movies to a DVD so you can put them in your DVD player and they will play?

The *best*? Well, I would rate Adobe Premier up there, but may be a bit more than you need. To be honest, there are free, or very cheap, tools out there that will do the job for free like AVItoDVD etc. In this case, Google is your friend.

I can't brain today. I have the dumb.

A lot of DVD burners come with Nero OEM applications bundled in, in which case Nero Vision Express is an easy option. If you don't have Nero maybe see what was bundled with yours, perhaps you have something already that you can use.

DVDFlick is a freebie that takes AVI files and converts them to a playable DVD.

Outside of that, I use Roxio / Sonic products that came with my Vista.

thousands out there buddy, thousands! really depends on your skill, your needs, and what you're burning off (some wont work with certain kinds of movie files etc etc, may need conversion - potentially loss of quality etc etc) and .... what you're willing to spend!!! i presume you're running xp or vista home basic - you need to get one of the above programs. if you're after free, you need some skills to do it as they can be overwhelming to the beginner. but check out the dvd burning forums out there
