Hi.
I have several Win10.10240 laptops that need upgrading to the latest build.
I have a USB created using the MediaCreationTool which I used for upgrading Win7/8 laptops to Win10.
Can I use this same USB to upgrade the Win10 laptops or will I need to do each one via WindowsUpdate?

Hoping I can avoid needing to download the update 10 times.

No idea. You have the latest on USB?

I think Microsoft has now decided that all 10 upgrades must occur from Windows Update and no longer provides MCT for your scenario. But if you have it already it will still work.

But if you go through windows update the the p2p update functionality should get files from your other already upgraded machines.

But if you go through windows update the the p2p update functionality should get files from your other already upgraded machines.

That was for a period of less than a week due to a bug.

I would suggest making a new USB drive before the installs purely because I think it means you will have the latest 10586.x build.

You are correct as to what to do. 10586 is an upgrade exactly the same as 10240 was and so behaves the same way.

OK, that didn't go so well.
The upgrade process warned I would lose personal apps and settings as the language was different.
My stick was created using English UK. The only other English option is English USA.
The laptop is set to English NZ which isn't an option in the MediaCreationTool.

Is there a way around this?

True, it might, but that will mean doubling the amount of USB sticks needed for future upgrading projects.

Does Microsoft really think that English NZ is more aligned with USA than UK?

there is no EN-NZ version

You'll need to choose the same language when you install Windows 10

so if you installed EN-UK you'll need to download that version using MCT
or vice versa with EN-US

or just use Windows Update

I dont think this worked.
I did laptop1 using Windows Update.
Then did Laptop2 while keeping Laptop1 turned on.
I watched the network traffic monitor on L1 while L2 was downloading the 1511 update. It barely flickered.
So I guess L2 got the update from the internet instead.
