Hello Peoples!

Ive recently brought a Asus M2N-MX SE motherboard, With CPU and Ram, I installed all my parts correctly. Put in all the plugs in, and as you can see its working nicely, I also brought my self a nice 5.1 speaker setup, connected it and told the motherboards sound card that im running 5.1, its all plugged in the back lot of ports and thats all nice.

But.....

Its when I try and use the front audio panel ports for my head set, they dont pick up and dont let any sound out, Same result for when I switch the sound card to 2 speaker setup, they just dont work.

I know the front panel plug is in correct because it only lets me plug it one way, My haedset works on the back set of ports, So i was wondering if the wires on the front panel need changing around in order for it to work.

Any ideas and if so could some one post a picture of how the wire config should look.

I will try and search more, but I thought I would ask the pros first :-)

Thanks From Jess

Have a look in the BIOS for something like 'Front Panel Audio' and make sure it is set to AC'97 and not HD Audio.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Don't worry guys I got it!

I changed a bios option and now it is all going well!

Here are some details on how I done it:

This press delete at startup, this will lead you into the bios

Go to advanced

Down to chipset

Down to southbridge configuration

Now press enter

Now go down to front panel select

Press enter again

Select AC97

press enter

Now press F10 and press OK

I'm sorry to have wasted your time, but I hope it will be helpful to other people who have the same problem.

Cheers

(PS: I type to all of this using vistas voice commands LOL)
