question.
my custom pc from computer lounge not compatible as 6600k and no TPM.
but i don't want to clean install - supposedly retail win 10 pro.
can i get a new cpu + mobo and plug everything back in and update to win 11?
will XMP 3200mhz (base ?2400mhz) ram work on the latest mobo?

Yes that will work, You will likely have to re-enter your product key for activation post swapping the hardware.
Your ram will work fine.

cool.
had another idea.
what if i replace mobo or bought a TPM module (whatever the heck that is!) -
will there be any workable workarounds with the 6600K CPU

Are sure you don’t have a TPM chip? Some makers/assemblers have them included but not turned on. Also check you Mainboard there may well be an add on TPM chip available. That would be the less painful route to take.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
No TPM, no PTT. Also, the 6600K isn't supported so you'll need to make use of workarounds such as 🔑 WinPass11 Guided Installer is a tool for installing Windows 11 on unsupported hardware through a walkthrough process. (reposhub.com)
Don't waste money on a TPM chip that's currently inflated to 10x the usual price. Better to save that money and put it towards a new PC.
Don't waste your money on any new hardware.
^ that's not entirely true. I've been able to install it on an old HP computer with an i7-3770 (not on the supported CPU list) but not on another similarly aged laptop despite having PTT on both.
I do wonder how PC recycling companies are going to be dealing with this. They'll be overrun with machines that can't run 11 yet people will be asking for machines that can.
I noticed they must have changed the requirements for my nuc hades canyon.
I am on the dev channel and where before you could not update to 11 with it saying processor was not supported the other day it came up as an upgrade option, Took about 1/2 hour to complete upgrade and all went with zero problems.
I like it love the refreshed look and feel and sounds.
