I've ruled out the tablet because I've looked at the data use on it and it's minimal. So must be something on the computer what's the best programme to install to view why the usage is so high with upload ?

Okay will try install that, so does that display what programmes are using what amounts of usage ?

no only when things are using the network

you should be able to narrow it down using task manager

Assuming windows 8, the task manger would make it easy to narrow down assuming its a constant draw too.

Resource manager (i forget if this is 7+ or Vista+..) also would be handy to do this with.

Both methods assume its a constant draw on usage though.

Okay I have found its dropbox, it has 36gb of photos on their so don't wana loose them or anything? it says its trying to upload 16 files and will take 2 days.... The resource monitor is showing as dropbox connecting to this address ec2-184-73-167-43.compute-1.amazonaws.com

I have a screenshot just unsure how to upload it, so they currently have 36gb of photos already on dropbox, so I am not a user of dropbox but was going to uninstall and reinstall dropbox but don't want to have to upload all those photos or anything again... What should I do? and is that above link that's using the usage legit or dodgy?

Been a long time since i have used Dropbox on the PC, but you should be able to right click on it, and disable it.

If you uninstall Dropbox completely, it wont remove anything off the Dropbox itself, so in theory, if reinstalled it should identify that X Photo is already there and identical thus it wont upload it.

16 files is that long? are they movies rather than photos by chance?

If you are referring to networx, defiantly not dodgy a program i used to use for a very long time ago, its synchronizing feature is pretty handy too.

That URL is fine for Dropbox, it is hosted on Amazon Web Services (in 'the cloud'). Have a look in the task manager on the desktop, in the corner by the clock, and there should be a blue open cardboard box icon. Right click on that and select settings, then 'pause syncing'. On the last day of the usage cycle when your broadband allowance resets, resume uploading to Dropbox and use up your spare data allowance. No need to uninstall the application, and even if you do you will still have your currently uploaded photos saved on Dropbox.

Click on the Go to Dropbox link on the desktop app, will open the browser to see exactly what is there.

You can also use this link to access your files from anywhere.

Hi it is saying their is 16 files and wont change just stays on that I go into the dropbox folder but cant see whats uploading and what the 16 files are that are trying to upload their is about 3500 photos on their

I don't think there is a way to check which files are currently uploading. You could go the recent events page on the drop box website to see what the most recently uploaded files were and then compare with the same directory on the computer. As others have said, it will most likely be a few large video files in the same directory where the photos are saved.
