invisibleman18: Haven't managed to find the answer to this yet. I get the below message that my wireless adapter is not compatible and I may not be able to connect to the internet. Is it worth the risk doing the update or should I just stick with Windows 7? If I do it and then can't connect to the internet would be it possible to go back to Windows 7 or would that be it for this laptop?
I installed Windows 10 on an older Windows 7 PC and it wouldn't connect. No errors, no indication at all that there was a problem. After much online searching and messing with different drivers (via USB...) I finally gave up and restored to W7 and it went without a hitch. You wouldn't know that W10 had been there, the old PC was exactly as it had been before the update, including an internet connection.
It turns out there are still a lot of people with NIC issues, and some with quite new rigs, so it's not all sorted yet.
