Hi.

Is it possible to download the ISO for 10565, and install on a PC, without having this PC permanently an insider build, getting new builds? 5565 has been fantastic for me so far, but for example, my office PC, it's not really suitable to be reinstalling every few weeks/months. I just want specific builds if they are significantly better.

I am experiencing some odd behavior in Edge. Some website are doing a strange flash affect. I have seen it in Stuff, The Mobile Nation sites, Car and SUV and CNN.
The whole page seems to do a flash reload or something it takes a few millisecond. It does it if I am scrolling or stationary.

Tis weird

Anyone else noticed this kind of artifacts in some windowed apps?

No.

You can download and install 10565 but you will be opted into Insider

I guess you could install 10565, not put in a Microsoft Account (which is required for Insider) and it should work until the timebomb kicks in

don't say things like that - you'll get called a luddite - I did :)

windows 10.0 is likely to be a pile of trouble historically . It comes straight after an okay operating system fixing the issues of the previous OS :)

Windows 3.0 difficult
windows 3.1 - Good
Windows 95 okay but problematic - especially after plug nad pray was introduced.
windows 98 good
Windows ME pile of crud
Windows XP good
Windows vista - pile of crud
Windows 7 - good.
Windows 8 - pile of crud
Windows 8.1 good
windows 10.0 - ?????
windows 10.1 most likely - good.

I just seem to be having endless niggles with it. For example today it decided that launching from the Start Menu or Task bar is not going to work for most Apps even core W10 Apps like Photos, Mail etc  but Edge would launch
I ran sfc/ scannow and fixed stuff and it ok again they launch but photos wont stay launched even after deleting the DB and starting again

Honestly - my opinion is that if you live on the cutting edge you will bleed at some stage.

MS are dedicated to Windows 10 - it is the pathway of the future of MS BUT unfortunately those early adopters are going to bear the brunt of them getting their software out of beta and into a decent production version. (yes I know it is officially out of beta but realistically no Windows Os has been good after release until at least SP 1 - Windows 7 possibly the only exception).   We are telling our clients to wait for at least 6 - 18 months, stick with Windows 7.

Windows 8 still causing headaches for those who went to it - MS still haven't fixed their high CPU / disk usage caused by windows Updates related services running all the time.

Windows 8.1 serviceable if you put classic shell on it - but why do that if Windows 7 is still around.

windows launch of 10 is marred by their whole update policy. If you turn off updates you are screwed and if you dont  - well ditto. Updates have messed up office, graphics drivers, GUI etc etc - and as you are discovering going through the process - damned if you do and damned if you dont.

I run 10 under virtualisation - gotta love the roll back in VMWare or Oracle VM. but damn it is driving me spastic with all its niggles.

I'm running 10 PCs on Win 10 Pro (upgrade from Win 7 followed by a fresh install) and have yet to have a problem that wasn't easily fixed.

... and I don't consider Windows 8/8.1 to be an "OK operating system" - I avoided it like The Plague.  smile

So what makes 10 any better? It still has all those horrible app type things in place - a really unfriendly user interface and a really nasty tie into microsoft who have made having MS accounts even closer to being manadatory than Windows 8 did.

That's what I am waiting for to see if it settles things. I love the way it works when all is good and I love the interface

Photos now opens but crashes and goes in less than a minute. Frustrating.
