old3eyes: My work laptop updated yesterday.  Took from 8.30am to 1.10PM   but this release is way faster than the previous one   but still slower than Win  7 on the other partition.

One thing that still irks me is that I can't drag items from the Start menu to the desktop  or from the task bar to the desktop.   It works fine if I install Classic Shell.  All my  work apps seem to work fine now.   DU Meter had a hiccup but they released a Win 10 version  end of May so an update fixed that.  Filehipo updater crashes with this release of win 10.  Wether I'll update my home Win 7 PC is doubtful as I'mm sure that my Canon printer / scanner will not have any drivers..

I remember one install I think was 10120 but don't quote on the build number, but the install included by default all the language packages and it took an eternity to install.

edit; my old HP loaded and worked fine with Win 10 as did our Brother Laser

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

joker97: Wow on a dual core 6 year old thing woth SSD only takes less than an hour

What takes less than an hour? Installation? On a Q6600 with an old SSD it was very fast to install.

Most likely the bottleneck is 4 gig of RAM and a 5400 laptop drive.  My desktop at home with 8 gig of RAM and a  fast Hard disk took about an hour or slightly less..

timmmay: I'm hoping that Windows Update works properly. I'm stuck on build 9xxx because it doesn't work - it downloads the update but won't apply it (the exact error message was posted a while back - doesn't matter). If all they fix is windows update, which gives them the ability to do continuous improvement, that's a win.

Give this a try

Also note ISO for build 10130 are likely soon

Thanks m. I might try it, but given the prod release is 7 weeks ago I'll probably just wait for that.

Does anyone have the link to accessing the feedback site outside of using Windows 10.   I don't have access to my win 10 VM but want to add an update to some feedback - searching on google is just returning advertising links.

Another version of windows, yawn

Bing NZ finally coming out of beta at the same time to support Cortana functionality in NZ - now that is friggin exciting. If we can have a supermarket duopoly here then why not a search duopoly too

Search Duopoly? Did the others go out of business?

So how are you liking Nosh as your grocery go-to

What?

Nosh is an upmarket gourmet supermarket chain in Auckland, he's making the point that outside pak'n'save, countdown and new world there are not any full range supermarket options outside of the duopoly.

I am fully aware of that and what a Duopoly is but that does not relate to the climb of a search Duopoly, there are many search alternatives. So my what was asking how.

Is there a Windows 10 upgrade advisor, like there was for Win7 and Win8?

seen this but its a quote.

"is my PC compatible? Is there going to be a Windows 10 upgrade advisor? Andrew S There already is. Run the Get Windows 10 app, click the menu and select “Check your PC” or “Your PC is good to go”. This will warn of any compatibility problems that Microsoft has found, bearing in mind that there are millions of devices and tens of millions of Windows programs that Microsoft knows nothing about. (Anybody can write software for Windows without telling Microsoft.) If you have any unusual hardware or software, hold off installing Windows 10 until the “early adopters” have found the major problems and Microsoft has had a chance to fix them. "

If you have the little 'Get Windows 10' icon you can right click on it and select 'Check your upgrade status'. If there are any problems then they will show up in a window. If no problems turn up then in the final window you see you can click the hamburger menu and select the first item under the 'Getting the upgrade' heading (for me it is 'Your PC is ready' because I have no issues) and it will show that it checked your devices and apps.
