Yes, I do have a Technicolor modem! My PC is connected to it by Ethernet cable.

It is a SPARK supplied TG589vn v2 VDSL modem.

To date I am not aware of any problems. (Other than it possibly causing my Samsung S3 phone to complain about "You internet connection is unstable" which may be due to some quirk from the modem).

Tell me what you know - please.

freitasm: Ugly, disjointed.

Feels like a dog's breakfast but usability is the prime concern and it's pretty good there.
I expect once it's had time to mature the whole thing will come together more. In the meantime I may try mitigating by tweaking. I like the screen art and photos tho.

I Like it. The migration/upgrade process was seamless. Learning curve is minimal. If you actually take the time to watch the Get Started videos on the start menu, you can pick up a few helpful pointers.

that will be your problem then, windows 8.1/10 dont like the way the technicolour handles some DNS querries/requests and will fail to load some pages, doesnt happen all the time, but does happen.

2 ways to solve this, manually set the DNS in the computer, and find the batch file with the DNS fix for the modem. use telnet and login to the modem and run the batch file.

windows 7 doesnt have this issue.

pretty simple fix if you know what the problem is :)

yep had the same issue on 8.1 with the technicolor modem, but im now running a netcom router

easier said than done in some cases

could always get windows to sort there end out so it doesnt error? like it doesnt in win7 vista and xp

problem is it was fine on win 7 and Microsoft changed something which made it not fit for purpose.

while i agree that it should work, spark might not see it that way because nothing have been changed on the device that was working with the previous OS

the OS meets the specs, the device doesn't. No other device has this problem.

As above Hiamie, the problem was first noticed with Windows 8.1. The problem you described have the hint you had the Technicolor modem. Spark were always good to replace these when the problem was explained. Worth a crack?

I have a Dell XPS1340 notebook running Win 7 Pro, it has an Nvidia GF9500M graphics card which Win 10 hardware check reports as incompatible with Win 10. I emailed Nvidia for a solution and they reply -

"This issue is a result of Windows 10 not meeting the required minimum system requirements and this is not a limitation from Nvidia."

Anyone got any idea what this actually means? Is it that MS haven't fulfilled their own spec and Win 10 is somehow "lesser" than Nvidia expected, or is this just another buck passing excuse?

So to keep on topic "no" but not because I don't want to.

Thanks for that. Have contacted Spark, and they are supposed to get back to me from one of their Broadband Specialists. Just got home, so hopefully someone will call soon.
