Hi all,

Having huge problems with my laptop.

Asus N53S
Intel® Core™ i7 2630QM Processor
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel® HM65 Express Chipset
DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM, 16 G SDRAM (Quad Core)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM

Problems range from windows not validating, error messages to windows 'legitimacy', windows unable to update, drivers wont update, antivirus wont update, internet doesnt connect for lots of programs, unable to reach website because of certificate issues (even with google) and so on...

End of last year I had to format my computer to destroy this vicious malware I accidentally downloaded (I got to season 5 in Breaking Bad and I just HAD to see it through). I tried to format myself but with no saved backups/images (rookie mistake, I know) but to no avail. Tried burning a ISO onto a USB and doing a full system restore... Long story short I took it into some IT guys from work, they 'fixed it' to a running state but it's never been the same since before the Breaking Bad incident (neither has my life - great show).

I am looking for help as to best fix my laptop. It currently says "Windows 7, Build 7601, This copy of windows is not genuine" on the bottom right of my desktop.

Very happy (and ideally would like) to format my laptop and start again, again.

I have a windows product key on the bottom of my laptop for windows 7 home premium so theoretically I should be able to get that? - Just don't know where to start.

I have tried entering my product key to this windows but it doesn't accept it because it's not for that version of windows.

Any and all help would be appreciated, all this is getting old real fast, I can do less and less on my laptop daily.

Please note:
I live in a boarding school so my internet is A: Restricted and B: requires activation and downloading of a program before having access.
I dont have/never got/cant find a windows disk or USB I don't think I ever got one with the computer - it was preloaded.

Any questions are welcomed and again help is appreciated!

Cheers,

Windowless.

Whoever Loaded Win on it did a absolute butcher job
They should have Loaded Win Home & used your product key. Pretty basic basic stuff.

God knows whats they loaded on it
- could be a pirated copy of Win
- could be a Corporate/charity ver of win
- could be Win pro with a pirated key

You now have no option, you MUST wipe & reload the correct version of win using your install key on the bottom.
